About PinUs
A private, self-hosted way for the people closest to you to know where you are.
PinUs started from a simple idea: location sharing between family and friends shouldn't require handing that data to a company that runs ads or resells it. So instead of a single app run by one business, PinUs is software anyone can run for themselves — a small circle of people, on a server they control.
That means there's no "PinUs, Inc." collecting data across every install. Whoever set up this particular site is the one running it, on their own server, for their own circle. If you have questions about how this specific instance is run, use the contact link in the footer.
What that means in practice
- No ads, and nothing here is designed to sell your attention or your data.
- Your location is only ever visible to the people in your circle — never shared between circles, and never shown to anyone outside them.
- The software is free to run. If this instance asks for support (see "Buy Me a Coffee" below), that's a voluntary tip to whoever maintains it — not a subscription fee.
